Acupressure Chart for Meridians and Acupoints
This is a clear poster of the 12 meridians and the acupoints used in Meridian Massage. I created this poster to be used as a reference by anyone interested in the meridians and points of Chinese medicine and Meridian Massage.
Chinese medicine, the theoretical basis of Meridian Massage, uses over 350 points (also known as acupoints, acupressure points, or acupuncture points). Learning all of these points is overwhelming and unnecessary for the practice of Meridian Massage. The Points and Pathways of Meridian Massage poster keep it simple!
Front, back, and side views provide the best way to see the meridian pathways.
Underlying anatomical landmarks are clearly shown. Meridians and acupressure points are shown on one side of the body so that the student can visualize the pathway on the opposite side. Use this poster to practice point and meridian location.
Yin, Yang, and the 5 Elements
The 12 meridians and acupressure points are classified by Yin, Yang, and the 5 Elements.
Every Element has an associated color.
To support your understanding, each meridian is represented by the color of its associated Element.
12 Meridians by Element and Color:
- Fire – Red; Small Intestine (Yang), Heart (Yin), San Jiao* (Yang), Pericardium (Yin) Meridians
- Earth – Yellow; Stomach (Yang), Spleen (Yin) Meridians
- Metal – White; Large Intestine (Yang), Lung (Yin) Meridians
- Water – Blue; Bladder (Yang), Kidney (Yin) Meridians
- Green – Wood; Gallbladder (Yang), Liver (Yin) Meridians
Yin and Yang Acupoints
All of the acupoints located on Yang Meridians are labeled in red.
All of the acupoints located on Yin Meridians are labeled in blue.
The poster has large text so you can easily identify the point number.
Printed Poster Dimensions:
Total length is 48 inches (122cm)
Total height is 36 inches (92cm)
I created this poster in collaboration with professional medical illustrator J. Yen Shu Liao. Use of these points is fully explained in my book, Meridian Massage, Opening Pathways to Vitality. Together, they provide an excellent guide for the use of these meridians and points, to create health and happiness.
*San Jiao is also known as Triple Heater or Triple Warmer.
The full size printed poster is sold by my friends at aromatics.com
This chart can serve as an acupressure chart and well as a chart of the 12 meridians of Chinese Medicine.
