How to calm a busy mind
A busy mind can be annoying.
I know from personal experience!
Here are a few things that I have found to calm a busy mind:
- Just stop whatever it is that I may be doing physically. Stop that activity and take a few deep breaths. Then take a few breaths while coaxing my mind to follow my breath. Getting my mind onto my breath may take a little persistence, but once it is there, ah, peace!
- Sometimes I’m just sitting here with a head full of spinning thoughts, so I get up and move. I take a little walk or I play with some gentle stretching – or both! Either way, moving the body gets the energy flowing in all directions, which helps disperse the “ball of spin” up there in my head.
- Write out those spinning thoughts on paper. There is no editing or filtering – I just let it spill out onto the page (or the computer). This process often brings something to light that I have been missing. It also feels like taking the cork off of a pressure cooker. By just writing it out, the pressure reduces and the mind settles.
Wishing you a peaceful and happy mind!

I liked this short post on calming an over active mind….BREATHING helps me every time…but I forget to do it!! (Or I’m just really lazy?) Iam 62, and I just learned how to turn on and use a computer last Spring!! Never used one til then!! So, I only do email and Facebook…The square up there for filling in a “WEBSITE” has me bewildered! I don’t have one unless its the Facebook post.
