What if I were a candle?

candle with flameWhat light would I share?

If the content of my Mind and Heart was the content of a flame, and I share that flame with others; what am I sharing?

What am I passing along?
A glimpse into the content of my repetitive thoughts and reactions is sometimes shocking. Other times, it’s an inspiring place to explore. As a lifelong student of: “Please, make me a better person,” I have turned to many teachers, methods, philosophies, books, self-helps, religions, practices, fads, diets, affirmations, and healing techniques. (Did I leave anything out?)

These days I am pondering self-governance and how to preside over myself.
Given the incredible collection of thoughts, reactions, imaginations, arguments, fantasies, connections, revelations, emotions, memories, hopes, dreams, and conversations (Did I leave anything out?) within this mind, is it possible to create a better community in here? I feel it is.

candles sharing lightI’d like to be a clear flame of kindness, joy, adaptability, steadiness, compassion, wisdom, possibility, love, fun, and acceptance (Did I leave anything out?) so that I govern myself in this way.

Perhaps if well practiced over time, when another candle comes close and a bit of fire from me is passed along; it could add inspiration and value to the flame that receives it.

This made me cry. These have been my thoughts and feelings and ponderings for awhile now. How can I be a better me. How can I be of service to my heart? How can I love deeper? How can I practice simple easy Grace? You, my friend, have taught me much with your clear true flame of Qi

Thank you Cindy I needed to hear that today, I know the ever tormenting and relentless between will I and wont I in relation to an incident that has occurred and one becomes so bogged down with the internal struggle of forgiving someone for what they have inflicted, rising above the self protection and looking at the person with the same degree of love is very difficult, so I will now think of the flame, what a wonderful metaphor, and when that person comes near I will make my flame burn bright and it will change the atmosphere around us. God Bless you in what you do for all of us.

How did you read my mind…
I have been pondering self governance for quite some time. It’s a practice. Glad that you have shared your flame this way!!

Thank you Cindy for your thoughts, so well said! It’s a journey for sure to remove the blockages to allow the ancient light and love which we naturally are to surface. Our nature is purely love! This is our true self to see with the “vision” and think with the “right” mind. We are to be a light of the world. We are asked to bring willingly the darkness to the light and look the truth beyond. Namaste!

Thank you for this insight, Cindy, in this time where everyone’s qi is in need of rescue. It is truly what we all need to aspire to.

Cindy, what a beautiful and inspiring blog. In the end, life is always about self-governance, no matter which or how many practices we try or integrate. So well said. You offered a lovely moment of peace.
