Love your Liver!
The eyes are the flower of the Liver.
Every organ has a sense organ, or “flower,” as the ancient Chinese texts so beautifully express the energetic connections between body, mind and spirit.
Blurry vision, dry eyes, or itchy eyes – these physical symptoms all point to the Liver Organ System.
Because Classical Chinese medicine maintains the wholeness of our body-mind-spirit, the Liver Organ System also relates to our ability to hold a vision, or goal for our future. What is your vision for yourself, what are you aiming to achieve? These central life questions are connected to the liver.
How to support your Liver
The Liver is associated with Spring.
Just as everything grows and expands in the spring, your Liver Organ System loves to have plenty of space to grow your dreams into reality. The liver appreciates action and movement. Take a walk, or a jog – whichever feels right for your body. Stretching, moving, playing sports, anything that has your body and energy moving supports your liver.
Getting outside in the fresh morning air, having plenty of time and space to express yourself is great “medicine” for the liver. Just like plants need plenty of water as they reach for the sky, your Liver Organ System requires water too.
3 Simple tips on How to Love Your Liver:
- Dry, itchy eyes? Drink more water.
- Losing your ambition to reach for your dreams? Add movement, space, and water.
- Grumpy, frustrated and angry? Go somewhere private and alone. Let it all out! Have yourself a satisfying yelling fit – express that energy rather than holding it in.
