Meridian Massage Institute is expanding!

KayakingGoing with the flow is always an adventure!

It’s been a few years since Meridian Massage Institute came into being. Because of the many dedicated hands-on practitioners who have integrated meridian massage into their work, meridian massage has become recognized as a true mind-body-spirit approach to healing.
I always envisioned a big wooden, open-spaced building in nature for the Institute itself. So, it has been a huge surprise that online webinars have become a central method of teaching this work. As this shift has been happening, I keep reminding myself to just breathe and go with the flow.
But what about my dream of gathering in Nature, in a remote quiet place where we can feel into ourselves, our roots and our spirits?  I have no idea, really. What is clear is that there are many people in distant places who are interested in meridian massage, and the only way we can connect is through the internet. As a surprise to many of us, it is working to teach and learn this way. Students from far away are writing to me with experiences and results that are just as profound as the students who take classes in person!Meditation
My teaching is based on the knowledge that massage therapists have the ability to be present, to listen deeply, to communicate wordlessly through touch and awareness. Meridian massage is more of an approach than a technique. I don’t need to teach experienced bodyworkers more techniques. What I teach is a framework (Chinese medical theory) that can be applied to the work that is already happening. Chinese medicine is centered around Qi (“chee”), our energy. Qi flows in pathways called meridians. This ancient theory tells us that when the Qi is abundant and flowing, vitality, health, inner peace and contentment arise.

In person or at a distance, massage therapists are learning this theory and applying it by contacting meridians and points in order to support the return to energetic balance.  The exact “how to,” or exact  “way” to apply contact cannot be taught. Each person must take it upon themselves to delve into the study of their own Qi, of their own internal nature in order to realize their unique ability and method to apply the theory. Out of their personal practice and study, comes small shifts and adjustments to their work that are bringing big benefits to their clients.

The persistent effort of each practitioner who studies and practices this work is why meridian massage has become so successful.

I’m excited to announce that I am creating a membership site for Meridian Massage Institute. The membership site will be a place where I can make the many free webinars I have been presenting available to you in a more organized fashion. It will also be the learning center for paid webinar classes, such as the Guide to the 12 Meridians and the Guide to the 5 Elements. Both of these classes have lots of additional written material that will be better organized on the membership site. The membership will provide students life long access to class materials.

The look of the Meridian Massage Institute website is going to change in order to accommodate the membership site.

Like all manifestations, things arise from an underlying energy and intention.
My intention is to provide education based within the dynamics of Nature and encompassing mind-body-spirit. The scope is expanding to include both in person and online classes. For the next six months, I am dedicating myself to the development of the membership site. This is so that the world wide community that has developed over the past months will continue to have a “solid” central place to meet and learn together.

Thank you!Thank you for your part in the growth of meridian massage.

May all of our  journeys be joyous and peaceful, as we flow together to wherever this river of life takes us.

      Linda,
Many classes will be open to everyone! Some will be only for Massage Therapists, Acupuncturists and other hands-on professionals.
The theory of Chinese Medicine is a great benefit to anyone whether they are practitioners or not. Thank you for asking, and I hope to see you in a class one day.
