Growing the Wood Element

Jumping manThe Wood Element is a time of explosive growth.

Spring is the season of the Wood Element.

We use the same energy that seeds use to sprout up through the hard dirt towards the sun, to move ourselves toward our goals and dreams. That energy is “Wood energy.” Wood energy is forceful and moves up and out like the branches of a tree spreading and reaching.
Spring is bursting forth in the northern hemisphere. Now is a very good time to give yourself extra space to expand, to grow your ideas and dreams.
We usually don’t notice how much force we use to take a step until we stub our toe. In the same way, we don’t always notice the power of the Wood element until it is restricted. The force to move through restriction can be termed as anger and frustration, or we can fine tune it, and transform the energy into assertiveness and perseverance.
If you are feeling agitated, frustrated or hemmed in, that is a sign that your Wood energy wants more room to express itself. man on mountain
Give yourself room to breath, to move, to stretch, or just take a walk in order to allow the Wood energy to flow.  As this powerful energy flows in your body it has the opportunity to transform into focused, assertive energy that can propel you toward your goals and desires.
