Timing and patience
I’ve been reading a book that I wish I had found years ago.
The words speak directly to me only, filling in gaps in my knowledge and curiosity. So I became agitated, “why didn’t someone tell me about this book last year – when I really needed it?”
In my mind I hear the repeating lines: “everything in its own time,” “don’t push the river,” “go with the flow.” Yeah, yeah – that’s great for everyone else, but why didn’t someone tell me about the precious book a few years ago? Why does it take me so long to find the stuff I really need to know?
Maybe it is because I’m the youngest of three of children – always wanting to know what everyone else knows as soon as I arrive on the scene. Or maybe it is because things have a time, pace and order that is beyond my control.
Deep breath, and remember that I crawl before I walk. When a student is ready, remarkably a teacher arrives.
